Pat Lyons is an Ottawa based Home Inspector, Property Manager and small project Contractor. Pat offers multi-disciplinary services to his clients, combining his technical expertise and hands- on experience in various construction trades, including carpentry, plumbing, electricity, landscaping, and structural design.
Trained in Environmental Engineering at Guelph University, his engineering career has been in the water and wastewater industry, where he was responsible for the design, build and operations management of wastewater treatment facilities and drinking water systems in Southwestern Ontario, Muskoka Lakes, Ottawa Valley and Indonesia (Borneo, Java and Aceh).

He has worked for the private sector, the public sector and for International Non-Governmental Organizations, resulting in a balanced experience of client relations, community engagement and delivering results. He has worked on a variety of projects, small and large scale, complex, urban and rural. He has worked closely with municipalities, indigenous groups, investors and donors to create plans, develop designs, manage projects, oversee operations and provide project reviews and assessments.
As a property manager, Pat provides full-scale coverage to his clients and tenants, from contracting services such as gardens, leaf clearing and snow removal, to appliance replacement and repairs, to contracting large scale projects such as furnace and roof replacement, to contracting painting, cleaning and listing between tenants.
With an interest in home improvement, Pat has amassed experience in a wide range of building and construction skills. Interior renovations have included flooring, trim-work, drywall, kitchen cabinets, bathroom replacement, insulation upgrades and the construction of furniture, including beds, chairs, benches. Exterior projects have included stonework paths and patios, construction of small out buildings, pergolas, decks and fences and cedar strip kayaks. He has also designed and constructed solar power generating systems and alternative water treatment systems for off- grid properties.
Pat’s combination of hands-on experience and project management, make him uniquely qualified to manage various sub-contractors, to assess their work and understand the timelines, budget, and realistic results. He works with a wide network of tradespeople and sub-contractors who are committed to client service, quality craftwork and respectful to environmental considerations.
Pat’s training and certification as a licensed Home Inspector with (InterNACHI), provides him with the qualifications to assess your home’s needs and the upcoming maintenance requirements to protect your investment.
